The five-acre campus, which is centrally located in the Fruitvale-Coolidge Avenue residential district, includes a classroom and administration building, the campus church, library building (with computer lab), prayer chapel, campus activity center, faculty office building, staff office building, communications center and student residence halls. A beautiful plaza adjacent to the University church fronts the main educational building, and an open space with expansive lawns and a fountain graces the area between the prayer chapel and the activity center. A parklike atmosphere has been achieved by a landscape design that includes expansive lawns, flowers, plants, redwood, palm, olive and other varieties of trees.
The San Francisco Bay Area is a beautiful and culturally diverse educational center of the United States. A great variety of recreational, athletic, cultural and religious activities of interest to students are within a few minutes of the Patten campus.
San Francisco is twenty minutes to the west via the Bay Bridge or Bay Area Rapid Transit (BART). Lake Merritt, a 155-acre lake, surrounded by beautiful Lakeside Park, is three miles from the campus. The East Bay regional Park System contains 26,000 acres of semi-wild recreation areas. Mild year-round temperatures are an excellent feature of the Oakland area, with prevailing westerly winds from the Pacific Ocean bringing warm winters and cool summers. The annual mean temperature is 57 degrees.
Cultural and educational activities thrive with a wide venue of museums and fine arts groups in Oakland and
surrounding cities. Nearby the University of California at Berkeley offers library resources of more than seven million volumes and the Graduate Theological Union, the world's largest center of ecumenical theological education, catalogs about 350,000 volumes. Patten University students may use these libraries and check out books for a small annual fee.
PattenUniversity provides spiritual activities ranging from small community groups to chapel services. Students worship and serve in a number of the nearly 400 churches in Oakland.

Wycliffe Hall contains several large classrooms, the Learning Center, the Business Office, and the Offices of the Chancellor, Executive Vice President, Academic Dean, Director of Development, Director of Campus Life, Registrar, Director of Financial Aid, Director of Information Services, and several other staff offices.
The Lion's Den is a student lounge with pool and foosball tables, vending machines and plenty of comfortable seating.
The Harold and Dorothy Blumenthal Library houses a growing collection of more than 33,000 books, over 180 periodicals, magazines and journals in paper, online access to more than 52 journal databases (Wilson Select), online access to full text educational journals, daily newspapers, an audiovisual collection of videos and CD's, a computerized Music and Language Lab and the Computer Center with word processing and internet access. The library contains both the Reference Department and the Circulation Department, where most of the library's circulating books are shelved. The upper level of the library building also contains the Science Lab and classrooms used for instruction and meetings throughout the year.
The Audiovisual, Computerized Music and Language Lab, which is located on the upper level of Wycliffe, provides computers and MIDI keyboards with music notation software, along with audio and audio resources for language study.
The Computer Lab, on the upper level of Wycliffe, has PC and Macintosh computers with word-processing, internet and educational software applications. Students may access the library's online research resources, including OCLC FirstSearch, Wilson's indexes, the Gale Literature Resource Center, Bible Study software (BibleWorks, Logos Bible software, Gaebelein's Expositors Bible Commentaries on CD-ROM) and other online Bible/religious study sites.
The Learning Resources Center provides services such as tutorials and study groups to develop and enhance writing and study skills. The Center is also designed for underprepared students, including those who need courses in English as a Second Language.
The Wesley Hall contains the Offices of the President and the Admissions offices.
The Campus Cottage contains the offices of the Communications and Psychology Departments.
The Music House contains practice rooms, a music classroom and faculty offices.
The Faculty House contains the Department of Education offices and a number of faculty offices.
The Christian Cathedral is the 1,110-seat campus church.
The Faith Hall auditorium, which accommodates 250 students, is used for chapels, student seminars, classes and special dramatic, musical and social events.
The Tom Patten Chapel, with its central campus location, symbolizes the centrality of prayer in the life of the university. This memorial chapel commemorates the life of minister-musician Tom Patten, son of the founder, Dr. Bebe Patten.
The Activity Center, located on the southwest side of the campus, includes a dining/conference facility, a student dining room, and a cafe. The Center is fronted by an attractive wide plaza and fountain.
Gutenberg Hall is the home of the Youth Ministries and Organizational Management Departments.
The TV and Radio Facility includes a color-video recording, editing and playback system used for training in communications. Students occasionally appear on the television program,"The Ministries of Dr. Bebe Patten", which originates from the campus and is seen on KTSF-TV 26 on Tuesday mornings at 9:00 am.
Our facilities include several access ramps and an elevator, which make administrative and staff offices, all classrooms, assembly halls, the library, and the campus activity center accessible to the physically disabled.
