Maranda returns for
her senior year as on of the leaders of the team. She is solid as a rock as the teams
primary catcher. Maranda excels
at getting on base in clutch situations.
She has a great eye and rarely swings at bad pitches. She can also hit the long ball as she
tied for the team lead in homeruns in 2006. Behind the plate is where she really shines, with a great
knowledge for working with pitchers and a strong throwing arm. Maranda was an All-Conference
performer at Bakerfield CC in her hometown of Bakersfield, CA.
