LION ATHLETICS
FUND DRIVE 2006
Patten University:
Patten is a private, Christian 4-Year academic institution with an
emphasis in Judeo-Christian ministries, Liberal Arts, Liberal Studies,
and Organizational Management (Business).
Located in the heart of inner-city Oakland, California, the
University provides a inter-personal learning
environment, several off-campus extension sites, and multiple
undergraduate and post-graduate degree options. Patten is also the only 4-Year college
in Oakland with baseball and softball.
Lion Athletics:
Patten fields two intercollegiate teams comprising of 50
student-athletes. The Lions are
affiliated with the National Association of Intercollegiate Athletics (NAIA), and the school is a member of the Region II as
an Independent representative.
2006 Fund Drive Goals:
Our 2006 goals are to increase the number of contributions to
achieve a total of $75,000. Since
the 2005 fund drive total was over $15,000, with only a limited number of
contributors, we know that with your help and support this is a realistic
objective.
The Lions’ Club:
The time and dedication required to be a student-athlete prevents
many from working even part-time.
The Lions’ Club is dedicated to assisting these student-athletes
with financial aid. An affiliate
of the Patten Foundation, the nonprofit organization helps keep the Lions
competitive while supporting student-athletes in their academic
pursuits. Please join us in making
a difference in the lives of young men and women, by enhancing the
potential of opportunities for current and future generations of student
athletes and creating a culture of family based, wholesome sports related
entertainment here in the bay area.
Your contribution will provide much needed support for
our developing programs. The 2006 Lions Athletic Fund Raising Drive will
kick off during the week of October 1 and continues throughout the fall
and winter. To obtain a brochure and/or more information please contact
the Patten Athletic Department at 510-261-8500 ext. 7773 or you can go
