Patten University
is an independent member of the National Association of Intercollegiate
Athletics (NAIA). The Patten Lions play a
competitive schedule against NAIA, NCAA and Christian Colleges. Patten University sponsors Women’s
Softball and Men’s Baseball. Future
sports being considered at Patten include Basketball and Soccer.
In 2006, the Lady
Lions softball team will be entering its seventh year of competition while
baseball returns after a five year absence.
This year the Lady Lions will play in two tournaments, make two
trips to the Los Angeles area, one trip to Oregon and Washington, and
travel to Tucson, Arizona. The Lady
Lions play their home games at Standley Field in
Hayward.
The Lions baseball
team will hit the road for Texas and New Mexico and play several games in
Los Angeles, Fresno, Redding and Santa Barbara. The Lions play their home games at the
College of Alameda in Alameda. The Lions are seeking players who maintain a
vibrant Christian testimony and lifestyle both on and off campus. Patten
University offers athletic scholarships to qualified individuals. For
