The Church Ministries major is designed to prepare students for vital educational leadership roles in local churches, educational institutions and ministry organizations throughout the world.

Students complete a core of five courses and then complete a 21-unit emphasis in either Christian Education of Youth Ministry.

The Church Ministries (CMN) major does not provide the prerequisite courses leading to the Multiple Subject Teaching Credential program. Students desiring to teach in public or private schools should refer to the Division of Education section of this bulletin.

Learning Outcomes

Students will:

1. Gain an understanding of the biblical, theological, historical, and psychological foundations for ministry to different age groups;
2. Gain the sensitivity required to minister in multiethnic, multicultural settings;
3. Be able to apply their skills and knowledge in personal evangelism, discipleship and Christian education in a variety of settings; and
4. Gain skills in leadership and administration, including recruitment, training, motivation, planning, outreach, and problem solving.
